July 17 (THEWILL) – It has been a brief business week as the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday July 11 and Tuesday July 12, 2022 as public holidays to commemorate the celebration of Eid al-Kabir.

Meanwhile, a total turnover of 504.322 million shares worth N7.517 billion in 12,393 trades was traded last week by investors on the stock exchange floor, unlike a total of 822.404 million shares worth N10.366 billion that traded hands last week. in 20,643


The financial services sector (measured by volume) topped the business chart with 270.549 million shares valued at N2.940 billion traded in 5,730 deals; thus contributing 53.65% and 9.11% respectively to the volume and value of the total turnover of the shares. The services industry followed with 74.980 million shares worth N168.626 million in 954 deals. Third place was the oil and gas industry, with turnover of 42.664 million shares worth N262.001 million in 798 transactions.

Trading in the top three stocks, namely Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, Caverton Offshore Support Grp Plc and United Bank For Africa Plc (measured by volume), accounted for 164.202 million shares worth N1.859 billion in 1 937 transactions, contributing 32.56% and 24.73% to total stock turnover volume and value, respectively.

For the ETP, a total of 2,414 units worth 962,254 Naira were traded this week in 10 trades, compared to a total of 5,099 units worth 267,772.87 Naira traded last week in 17 trades.

For bonds, a total of 747,022 units worth N775.089 million were traded this week in 23 deals, compared to a total of 156,646 units worth N158.716 million traded last week in 41 deals. .

The NGX All-Share Index and market capitalization rose 1.27% and 1.28% to close the week at 52,215.12 and 28.158 trillion naira respectively.
